RIGHTS OF THE PATIENT AND THEIR RELATIVES
Right to Benefit from Services
Patients and their relatives who receive health services have the right to benefit from all services without discrimination of language, religion, race, gender, sexual orientation, economic and social status.
Our patients and their relatives have the right to receive information about the diagnosis and treatment services offered and how to access these services.
Right to Information and Approval
Our patients;
- If they are conscious, the medical interventions proposed by themselves or their appointed, if unconscious, through their legal representatives, and the potential risks or benefits of each intervention,
- Alternatives to the proposed initiatives,
- He has the right to receive full information about the complications that may develop as a result of being untreated and his health status in a language and method that he can understand.
- Our patients have the right to receive a written copy of all their medical records, if they submit their request in writing.
- Our patients have the right to decide or reject the treatment to be applied after being informed about the risk of serious side effects, risk of death, problems with convalescence, and treatment outcome. If our patients use this right, they are deemed to have accepted that they have ‘approved’ the procedures to be performed.
- Patients who refuse the recommended treatment are not deprived of other care and treatment opportunities of the institution.
- Our patients have the right to receive information about the correct evaluation and treatment of the disease they are complaining about.
- Our patients and their families (relatives) have the right to receive information about donating organs and other tissues.
- Our patients have the right to receive clear information about the hospital mission.
Right to Refuse and Stop Planned Treatment
Our patients have the right to refuse the recommended treatment. In case of rejection of the treatment, the possible consequences are explained by the physician and a written document is obtained showing that it is understood. If our patients refuse treatment with a document, they are dismissed from our hospital. Our patient, who previously refused treatment but applied to our hospital again, has the right to receive the necessary medical care and treatment.
Right to Communication
Our patients with language (Language) problems have the right to request an interpreter who will understand their own language during their treatment.
The Right to Recognize, Select and Change Personnel
Our patients have the right to know, choose and change the identities, duties and titles of the doctor, nurse and other health personnel responsible for their own treatment.
The Right to Choose and Change the Organization
Our patients have the right to choose and change the health institution and organization, provided that the procedures and conditions stipulated by the health legislation to which they are subject are complied with.
Right to Privacy
- Our patients have the right to refuse to talk to or see people who are not directly related to their treatment, including visitors.
- Our patients have the right to request environments that will provide visual and auditory confidentiality at all points of service.
- Our patients have the right to request additional security if they wish, provided that they pay the price.
- Our patients have the right to protect the confidentiality of their medical information even after death. This information is disclosed to the relevant authorities in line with the express consent of the patient or his/her heirs or court decision. Unless there is a medical necessity and permission, our patient has the right not to give information about his private and family life, for whatever reason.
Right to Respect
Our patients always have the right to be treated in a respectful and friendly environment by protecting their personal reputation under all circumstances.
Right to Consultation
The patient has the right to request a consultation with a specialist from a different branch, if he/she requests and accepts the additional payment.
Right to Request a Second Opinion
The patient has the right to receive information about his/her health status from another physician working in the same branch other than the physician who is dealing with the treatment.
The Right to Fulfill One’s Religious Duties
Our patients have the right to benefit from religious services within the framework of hospital rules.
To the extent possible, a religious officer has the right to be brought in line with the patient’s religious needs at the request of the patient and/or relative.
Right to Security
Everyone has the right to expect and want to be safe in a healthcare institution. Necessary measures are taken by our hospital to protect and ensure the life and property safety of patients, their relatives such as visitors and companions.
Right to Have Companions and Visitors
Our patients have the right to have companions and visitors within the framework of the rules determined by our hospital.
Right to Complain / Express Opinion and Suggestion
Our patients have the right to complain, have their complaints reviewed and be informed of the results. Our patients have the right to report their complaints to our hospital’s Patient Rights Office, provided that their rights to apply to relevant professional organizations and courts are reserved in accordance with Law No. 6023. If complaints cannot be resolved within our hospital, our patients have the right to apply to the highest administrative authority of the location where the healthcare institution is located. Our patients have the right to apply to the courts within their legal rights.
Healthcare Institution Rules and Practices
Our patients have the right to obtain information about the hospital rules and practices that will apply to them.
The Right to Know Examination and Treatment Fees
Our patients have the right to learn about treatment service fees before treatment and later request and receive a clear and detailed invoice of the fees they paid for the service they received.
The Right to Receive Social and Psychological Support
Our patients have the right to wear their own clothes, use duties and/or symbols related to their beliefs, receive social and psychological support, have a companion and receive visitors, as long as it does not interfere with the diagnosis procedures or treatment.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF PATIENTS AND RELATIVES
Providing Information
The patient must provide complete and accurate information about their complaints, previous illnesses, whether they have received any inpatient or outpatient treatment, the medications they are currently using, if any, and all information about their health.
Following Recommendations
Our patients are also obliged to comply with the treatment plan recommended by the doctor responsible for their treatment and to accept the care of the relevant healthcare personnel in accordance with the doctor’s instructions.
The patient should listen carefully to the recommendations regarding treatment and medications and ask the physician about the parts he/she does not understand. Refusing the Planned Treatment
Our patient is responsible for the consequences of refusing the treatment planned by his/her physician.
Complying with the Healthcare Institution Rules
Our patients and their relatives are responsible for complying with and implementing the rules of our healthcare institution.
The patient must comply with the date and time of his/her appointment and report any changes to the relevant institution.
Showing Respect
Our patients and their relatives should not act in a manner that would violate the rights of other patients and hospital staff.
In cases such as noise, smoke and excessive number of visitors that endanger patients in our hospital, they should comply with the rules of our hospital.
Infection Control
Patients and their relatives are responsible for complying with all the precautions recommended to them to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
Responsibility to Report Infectious Diseases
A patient who was previously diagnosed with an infectious disease in a different institution is responsible for reporting his/her condition to his/her physician.
Our patients with suspected or diagnosed infectious diseases should not request to be discharged from the hospital unless they have a permit from the authorized physician indicating that there is no harm in discharge.
Payment Responsibility
Our patients are responsible for paying the examination and treatment expenses. Patients and their relatives who intentionally damage fixed assets and consumables are responsible for paying this.
Patient Visitor
Our patients are responsible for accepting as few visitors as possible at the same time, not bringing food or drink, not using other patients’ belongings, and complying with hospital visiting hours.
Responsibility for Not Making Improper Requests
Our patients should not demand the administration or application of any medication that is not considered appropriate by the authorized physician and is not included in the treatment plan.
