Should I have an implant?
Missing teeth can cause other teeth to shift, affect your ability to chew properly, and spoil your smile. Also, losing your back teeth will cause you to age faster and look older.
Implants can be great options if your tooth cannot be saved.
How long does the implant take?
Although there are types of implants in which prosthesis is made immediately after surgery, generally, after the implants are placed in the jawbone with an operation of about 1 hour, it is waited for 2-3 months for the prosthesis to be made. This is the time required to establish a bond between the implant and the jawbone.
It was very painful when implanting. Is this true?
First of all, it should be known that there is no longer a painful treatment in dentistry. Nerve blockade of the application area is performed as necessary with the appropriate anesthesia to be performed before each intervention. The patient does not feel any pain during the operation if the appropriate anesthesia methods are applied. In this regard, it is imperative that the physician has a command of the subject. It should be preferred that the physician is competent in the specific intervention performed. Apart from this, there is no special pain specific to the implant operation, and it is possible that there are simple discomforts experienced after an ordinary tooth extraction. Ordinary pain that may occur after the placement of the implant can be easily relieved with painkillers. Although 98% of our patients feel that their past fears are unfounded after the operation, they report that they are as comfortable as if they had not undergone any operation.
